- the LED circuit shall be verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-13 or IEC/EN4 v1 Y2 `& n) ]1 y
61347-2-11 (*) and the LED shall be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1
2 z) X4 `. d+ B! w" m. m) o# A(Safety of laser products) (§)-(#), if it has laser radiation in the wavelength
, Q( n, O: v* T) V4 O# franging from 180 nm to 1 mm. Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be
8 |. o! O! o- {  h& W$ hused without problems for lighting purposes without protection.$ x  d; S& K- L- L1 S9 q
- The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 shall be carried
( ~0 H7 C  |0 j7 N. lout as follows:
/ B+ x- k& s, ka) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear shall be tested
& S& H" s) v( v$ m8 D8 o" paccording to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.
# Q; o8 E9 |, W/ Gb) For Class III luminaires the manufacturer shall provide the necessary0 j; g3 Q+ u3 v9 W
information to power up the LED circuit correctly in the instruction sheet.
5 _7 A. o, Y& H# y/ Z1 ]Alternatively, the manufacturer shall inform Testing Station about the
: o4 V+ J0 J1 m) A" \& k0 Vtrade mark, the type and the technical characteristics of the appropriate  t' v# n! y; A% O2 [- x
control gear to be used. There are three different control gears namely, the0 ?7 s; ~: t5 ^
type and the trade mark as indicated by the luminaire manufacturer; an
4 t  X2 t4 m+ x; Y. y7 O  Y. `electronic control gear clearly specified in the luminaire instruction sheet, |1 q# Z0 w, E5 P5 m" O
and a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be carried out as required
4 w3 r" G) a1 n% yin Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with the appropriate control) x6 r, q9 w. H# F$ p) x- k
gear.  E" _. k# h! \8 V$ }
(*) When IEC/EN 62031 (34A/1168/CDV) will be published, it will takes2 K* ^1 B7 ?- Y* d. c2 j7 G, o  d2 k$ k' C
over IEC/EN 61347-2-11.
