Question:
One appliance incorporates an automatic control component which doesn’t comply
separately with standard IEC60730.
In this case, shall the automatic control comply with the creepage distances and clearance
requirements of IEC 60335-1, or with the ones of IEC60730 ?
Decisions:
The creepage and clearance distances shall comply with the IEC60335-1 requirements for
the component (inside and outside) if it doesn’t comply with the IEC60730, and in any case
(even if the automatic control is in accordance with IEC60730), the requirements of clause
29 of IEC60335-1 apply between live parts of the component and accessible parts of the
appliance
