Decision n.20 taken at 36th meeting/1999
Question: sub clause 24.101 reads: “if thermal cut-outs which limit the temperature of the
core are incorporated, at least one shall be of the non-self –resetting type”.
Does this mean that:
1.1 It is not necessary to incorporate a thermal cut-out in a thermal storage heater.
1.2 There is no obligation to incorporate a thermal cut out of the non self resetting
type, if, to fulfil all the requirements of the standard, the appliance is equipped with
a second thermostat or temperature limiter.
2. At least one thermal cut out has to be of the non self resetting type, if the appliance
is equipped with more than one thermal cut-out
Decision:
1.1 Yes
1.2 No, at least one of the control devices which operate during clause 19 (when control
devices operating in clause 11 are short-circuited) shall be non self resetting.
2. Yes
